Some pictures scrapped at the weekend

Memories of summer days and BBQ's are in the distant past, it's glove and hat season but it's nice to look back and remember potato salad with flies in it and undercooked meat!
Every picture of Nanny has to be glammed up, either it be glitter or very patterned paper it needs to be blinging! I'll have to ask Ben when this was taken but I think it was in an airport while he was getting his pilot's licence

Scrap Class 4: Altered Calendars

I'm so excited about this!! Next class is on Saturday 14th November 12-4 and we will be scrapping a few altered calendars each. I will be putting a few previews in the upcoming days. You will need photos that you don't mind looking at all year around!

Fists of oranges

a term my other half uses when he thinks something is MEEETAAL (said in your deepest scariest voice) and he then does this with his hands..... there was a stage last year where that's all he did. Scrapped this when I was mad at him so not much love was put into it lol
Scrapped this when I was mad at him so not much love was put into it lol, good thing is wasn't his face or I would have drawn on him!!

Altered items

A daisy themed notebook and a tiny lil box that would be great for boxing jewellery for a present or using as a favour for a wedding

Blues' altered album

I like the way this one came out, sparkly but not too overly blinging! Put a nice sentiment on the inside page, something to cheer her up every time she opens the book!

Present boxes

These could be made into Christmas cards but for now I made them present boxes. The base of these is about the size of the palm of your hand.

Sarah's Altered Notebook

Hope she likes it :) It's for her babies childminder.

12 days to Halloween!

Practiced our make up for Halloween tonight, we are going as a zombie prom queen and cheer leader since the boys wouldn't agree to dress up as couples with us. I'm just afraid things will get a bit out of hand and we will end up seriously hurting each other....again lol

Christmas Cards

Last day off for a while so I went on a card bonanza...if I see another card again today I will crack! I think D is wondering where the kitchen table has disappeared to under all the paper. I told him when I get my extension he can have the kitchen table back!

Altered notebooks

I got a few cheap note books and tried to bling them up, unfortunately they were so cheap they won't open now with out ripping! Lesson learned, buy decent notebooks!
They are tiny though, they fit in your hand and would be so cute for your handbag or for the car!

For Karen

Chickpea and Chirozo soup

Fry 1 onion and 2 sticks of celery until soft and then add 1 chopped garlic clove (I add 2 because I love garlic!)
Add 1/2 teaspoon of cajun spice (gives it a kick so I add 1 full teaspoon!, and 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
Add 4 chopped carrots and 1 tin of tomatoes (add a pinch of sugar if it is too sour)
Then add 1 cup of boiling water with a stock cube in it and simmer for 20 minutes or until carrots are cooked.
Blend well and add some milk (cream if you are being naughty) until it is at a thick but soupy consistency.
Return back to pot and add 1 tin of chickpeas (rinsed from tin water ick!) and about half a stick of chirozo that I have already fried in a dry pan until browned.
Season to taste
Serve with creme fraiche and crusty bread NYOM!

More tall cards....

I need to stop sitting at the table and zoning out, waking up 3 hours later covered in glue and embossing powder and not remembering making any cards.... anywho I'm making use of my new Dragonfly die-cutter, he's such a cute lil feller!

D Grylls

The journalling reads: We are watching wayyyy to much Bear Grylls even lighting the fire has turned into a farce. D jumped at the chance when I told him he could light the fire Bear style. Of course we didn't have 2 bits of flint but a nearly used lighter is the same thing right?

The elevator of vanity

The elevator in Amy's old apartment had a horrible mirror in it that would make us all just stare at ourselves. If you had a flaw, the mirror would find it and amplify it! I used a die cut to cut the dragonfly and then used a gold marker to dot his trail around the page and fill in some blank spots on the page :)
Focusing on different ideas on how to journal and making home made embellishments in the next class.

New xmas cards

Got a new stamp at the weekend so while I was sick I tried it out on a few cards....When D asked how come I was ok to make cards but nothing else all I could say was "I'm sick after all not dead"

Christmas Card

Saw the idea somewhere reaaally cool and totally not sad *cough* craft channel *cough* and thought it was a nice idea!
Papers are just free ones I got with a magazine and inside it has a little pocket with a "bookmark" (I use that term loosely lol) slotted into it. Inside the book mark you can write your greeting

Crafty equation

An attack of insomnia + itchy crafting fingers - decent scrapping photies = ridiculous cards being made at 2 in the morning

Where iz ze wascally hamster?

Since Lola got out last night Diablo has been very unnerved and thought this photo would be appropiate to tell the story! It was taken a few weeks ago while cleaning her cage and I could resist putting him into it, he spent his whole time not moving and staring inside the cage to see if he could see her!
The journalling tag pulls out from behind the lil hamsters head:
Since Diablo is a schauzer when ever I hear him speak in my head it's always in a thick German accent. Although he is fascinated by Lola he became very insecure after she escaped and spent the next few days by my ankles (and under my scrapping table!)
and would stare at Lola's cage from under his eyebrows.
All because the hole in the cage for the drink bottle had been filled with a lemon and when it shrunk she made her escape!
